I agree with her. He learned a very valuable lesson: Don’t disrespect women, especially Black women and don’t disrespect yourself. She did the right then and the most beautiful part of it is that she forgave him.

She’s Ms. Patti for a reason… she stood up for herself and didn’t take to being disrespected – even if it was jokingly. And… furthermore… she did it with grace and dignity and even forgiveness… I love that woman!!! We could all learn a little from that moment…
I think she was correct in “putting him in his place”. She is a GROWN woman and while I think he said it in fun, he should not have gone there with her. He doesn’t know her and he’s on her turf . I do like the fact that she brought him back on stage to bring closure to the situation. Next time he will know better, dont talk out the side of your face!
If you all felt someone was disrespecting you or going too far, surely you would address and access the situation. He was given an opportunity to redeem the episode but he chose to get “phierce”. I would have let him have it too. But the ‘cuteness’ was she delivered reinforcement by calling him up and displaying closure with an embrace. That’s a REALMUTHAFORYA!
